Job Title: Medical Physicist
Location: San Francisco, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $202 – $217/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Medical Physicist for a temporary assignment in San Francisco, California. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Medical Physicist:
• Hold American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification in diagnostic or therapeutic medical physics
• Be eligible to be authorized as a Calibration Physicist with the State of California
• Provide clinical presence for linac-based radiation therapy patients in a radiation oncology department
• Perform machine troubleshooting for linear accelerators and work with service engineers to resolve machine issues
• Conduct weekly and final chart checks for radiation therapy patients
• Perform plan checks for external beam plans
• Execute linac quality assurance (QA) procedures
• Work with a clinical patient mix including in-patient palliative care patients
• Utilize treatment planning systems, oncology information systems, and related software (e.g., RayStation, Aria, MIM)
• Operate and perform QA on Elekta Versa and/or TrueBeam linear accelerators as applicable
• Maintain current BLS certification (AHA)
• Maintain valid ABR certification and state licensure
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills within a multidisciplinary clinical environment
• Complete required compliance documentation and credentialing requirements
