Job Title: Medical Physicist
Location: San Francisco, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $202 – $217/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Medical Physicist for a temporary assignment in San Francisco, California. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Medical Physicist:
• Hold American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification in diagnostic or therapeutic medical physics
• Be eligible to be authorized as a Calibration Physicist with the State of California
• Provide clinical presence for linac-based radiation therapy patients
• Perform machine troubleshooting for linear accelerators and work with service engineers on machine issues
• Conduct weekly and final chart checks for radiation oncology patients
• Perform plan checks for external beam plans
• Demonstrate working knowledge of linac quality assurance (QA) procedures
• Work with a clinical mix of patients including in-patient palliative care patients
• Utilize Truebeam linear accelerators and Elekta Versa machines as applicable
• Use RayStation treatment planning system for plan development and review
• Operate within Aria Oncology Information System and MIM software platforms
• Maintain valid state licensure and ABR certification
• Maintain current BLS certification (AHA required)
• Hold a Master’s Degree or PhD in an applied science with medical physics training in a radiation oncology program
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a radiation oncology department
• Maintain ACRT accreditation experience as applicable
• Adhere to all applicable facility policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements including booster
