Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a EP for a permanent assignment in Dover, Delaware.

Responsibilities for a EP:

• Prepare patient care and/or procedure areas prior to the arrival of the first patient or beginning of first procedure to ensure safe and efficient delivery of care
• Receive and review charts for scheduled patients, ensuring proper documentation, lab results, and consent are present prior to procedures; communicate abnormal lab results or concerns to the physician/Nurse Practitioner
• Prepare patients for procedures in a timely and efficient manner
• Provide nursing care including complete systems assessment and monitoring for immediate pre- and post-procedural cardiovascular and electrophysiology patients; communicate abnormal findings immediately to the physician/NP and provide appropriate handoff to receiving RN
• Participate in the “Full Stop” and/or “Time Out” process prior to the beginning of each procedure in accordance with unit policies
• Administer procedural sedation per unit and hospital policies
• Accurately document handoffs, pre- and post-procedure care in the electronic documentation system in real time; accurately document all procedures in the MacLab/CardioLab system
• Independently circulate all procedures performed in the Cardiovascular and EP Lab; accurately record procedure logs in MacLab/CardioLab documentation system in real time
• Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, peripheral procedures, endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR), electrophysiology procedures (ablations, ICD insertions/revisions, pacemaker insertions/revisions, EP studies, loop recorder insertions), structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO), and interventional neurology procedures (carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, cerebrovascular aneurysm embolization, TCAR)
• Conduct cardiac tests to monitor patients’ heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment
• Perform blood work analyses and operate intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Demonstrate proficiency in X-ray fluoroscopy and operate 3D mapping systems as applicable within assigned lab
• Maintain a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within the assigned lab including structural heart procedures and hemodynamics (Cath Lab), device and electrophysiology procedures (EP Lab), and neuro-interventional procedures (Interventional Neurology Lab)
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients and families in accordance with hospital standards, including sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy
• Direct and practice safety guidelines for self, staff, and patients
• Actively participate in the preceptorship of new staff members
• Enhance professional growth and development through participation in education, workshops, in-services, and current literature; maintain required certifications and complete yearly unit and hospital mandatories prior to performance evaluation
• Seek specialty certification and/or advanced degree as applicable
• Work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to an on-call pager, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid Registered Nurse licensure
• Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
