Job Title: NICU
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 9-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $75 – $81/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a NICU for a temporary assignment in Providence, Rhode Island. These positions are 9-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a NICU:
• Provide registered nursing care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting
• Work weeknights and weekends, 48 hours per week, four 12-hour shifts; flex position with shifts predominantly nights
• Maintain active RN license (or compact license, if applicable)
• Maintain current BLS certification (AHA)
• Maintain current NRP certification
• Obtain STABLE certification (preferred)
• Utilize Epic EMR system for clinical documentation
• Provide care for neonates requiring ventilator support and high-acuity interventions
• Demonstrate minimum 1–2 years of recent NICU experience (Level II–III)
• Work assigned holidays as required, including Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day
• Maintain up-to-date vaccinations including flu and COVID-19 vaccines (no exemptions)
• Complete required credentialing and onboarding documentation including skills checklist, specialty competency exam, basic EKG exam, pharmacology exam, and core competencies
• Submit two professional references prior to assignment start
• Comply with health screening requirements including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, TB testing, and fit testing
• Adhere to confidentiality agreements and facility policies and procedures
• Undergo fingerprinting and criminal background check as required for onboarding
