Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: Los Angeles, California
Schedule: 5:00AM – 1:30PM x 5
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $163 – $175/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary assignment in Los Angeles, California. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Serve as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant on the Pediatric Palliative Care team
• Perform rounding and consulting on inpatient pediatrics
• Manage patients waiting on transplant, including symptom management
• Facilitate goals of care discussions with patients and families
• Navigate complex and sensitive conversations with families using strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Practice autonomously on an occasional basis as needed
• Collaborate and tag team with physicians and other APPs on the team
• Work alongside a social worker who rounds with the team five days per week
• Manage a consult load of approximately 8-12 patients per day
• Work four 8-hour shifts per week, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Maintain current Pediatric Acute Care Certification
• Maintain valid California state licensure
• Adhere to all applicable facility policies and procedures
