Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: La Jolla, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $139 – $149/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary assignment in La Jolla, California. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Must have leadership experience and 3+ years of oncology experience
• Serve in a supervisor role for the Oncology unit with a 60/40 clinical to administrative split
• Work 12-hour shifts, available Monday through Sunday
• Hold active ACNP or PA licensure
• Oversee Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in daily operations
• Ensure adherence to ethics and quality standards in the delivery of patient care by APPs
• Collaborate with senior management on operational and performance issues
• Support the development of new plans and programs to improve and integrate APP functions and systems across specialties, departments, and throughout the medical center
• Lead the development and implementation of APP Best Practice Models
• Ensure appropriate professional development opportunities are developed and implemented for APPs
• Provide clinical care for oncology patients and families in collaboration with faculty
• Perform physical exams and order diagnostic and screening tests
• Diagnose and treat patients and develop individualized plans of care
• Accurately document patient medical history and care
• Educate and consult with patients and families regarding diagnosis and treatment
• Apply knowledge of clinical and operational issues including evaluation, testing, diagnosis, treatment, patient-care concepts, policies, outcomes measurement, quality standards, ethics, quality improvement, and continuing staff education and professional development
• Maintain recent inpatient or outpatient leadership experience
