Job Title: Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner
Location: Potsdam, New York
Schedule: 6:00AM – 4:00PM x 6
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $127 – $136/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Potsdam, New York. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner:
• Provide general medical care to hospital patients
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases in a hospital setting
• Examine patients as they are admitted
• Coordinate care for hospitalized patients
• Communicate with a patient’s primary care doctor
• Follow up with a patient’s primary care doctor after their hospital stay
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and X-rays
• Answer patient questions about treatments
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Work a 14-shift-per-month schedule (7 on/7 off, 7a-7p)
• Adhere to facility dress code and professional appearance standards
• Maintain valid NY State licensure and board certification
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of recent experience
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
• Follow department policies including clock in/out procedures, required lunch breaks, and call-in notification requirements
• Refrain from personal cell phone use during shift
