Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: Potsdam, New York
Schedule: 6:00AM – 4:00PM x 6
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $127 – $136/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a locum tenens assignment in Potsdam, New York. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Provide general medical care to hospital patients
• Diagnose and treat various illnesses and diseases in a hospital setting
• Examine patients as they are admitted to the hospital
• Coordinate care for hospitalized patients
• Communicate with a patient’s primary care doctor regarding treatment and care
• Follow up with a patient’s primary care doctor after their hospital stay
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and X-rays
• Answer patient questions about treatments and care plans
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Adhere to dress code and professional appearance standards
• Comply with cell phone and personal device policies while on duty
• Provide a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a comparable specialty or setting
• Must be Board Certified
• Work scheduled shifts on a 7 on/7 off rotation (14 shifts per month, 7a-7p)
• Adhere to call-in policy requiring 2-hour notice to supervisor
• Obtain any required pre-approval for overtime
• Maintain valid New York State licensure
