Job Title: CNA
Location: Hot Springs, South Dakota
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $29 – $32/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a CNA for a temporary assignment in Hot Springs, South Dakota. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a CNA:
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, undressing, bathing, oral hygiene, pericare, foley care, backrubs, and shaving while maintaining patient privacy and dignity
• Answer call lights, serve and collect food trays, and feed residents as needed
• Measure and record food and liquid intake and all output including drainage systems as ordered
• Perform routine treatments and procedures including warm and cold applications
• Assist RN/LPN with complicated treatment procedures
• Collect specimens including stool, urine, and sputum
• Take and record vital signs, weights, and height
• Provide general nursing care such as positioning, lifting, and turning residents
• Apply and utilize special equipment and assist in the use of bedpan, urinal, and commode
• Ambulate residents as needed
• Assist in preparation of resident rooms and beds for incoming admissions
• Ensure resident rooms and work areas are clean and safe
• Care for residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse and report any observed changes in condition or behavior to RN/LPN
• Maintain established department policies and procedures related to fire safety, environmental standards, quality assurance, hazardous materials, and infection control
• Know personal role in fire drills
• Attend required meetings, in-services, and educational programs
• Stay up to date on posted information, notes, and minutes
• Serve on nursing service committees as requested
• Maintain current certification through the South Dakota Board of Nursing
