Job Title: MED-SURG
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Schedule: 4:00PM – 4:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $54 – $58/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG:
• Must possess an active State of Hawaii license prior to assignment start date
• Provide proof of flu vaccination or obtain facility-approved medical or religious exception prior to contract start date
• Work night shift on a 13-week contract basis
• Work scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
• Work various shift lengths and various days with flexibility required
• Perform general nursing duties within a Medical Unit setting
• Perform procedures including wound vac and chest tube management
• Utilize Meditech EMR for clinical documentation
• Operate unit equipment including Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain a minimum of 2-10 years of relevant clinical experience
• Float to other units as needed, including the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit
• Adhere to a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio for day and evening shifts and 1:8 for night shifts
• Comply with professional nursing attire dress code requirements
• Complete department-specific training and orientation program
• Arrive the Thursday prior to the assignment start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday
