Job Title: Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $130 – $140/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Saint Louis, Missouri. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Surgical Nurse Practitioner (SNP):
• Provide comprehensive inpatient management of complex pre- and post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including CABG, valve repair and replacement, and aortic surgery
• Perform daily assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for high-acuity cardiac surgery stepdown and ICU patients
• Manage arrhythmias and demonstrate proficiency with pacemakers
• Perform volume management and diuresis as well as address electrolyte abnormalities
• Conduct infection surveillance and implement appropriate interventions
• Interpret and synthesize clinical data to guide patient care decisions
• Manage chest tubes, including removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, and surgical drains
• Provide wound care as needed
• Perform admit and discharge of patients proficiently
• Coordinate care and facilitate discharge planning
• Recognize clinical deterioration and escalate in a timely manner
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and the multidisciplinary team while practicing with a high degree of autonomy
• Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism with the care team
• Document clinical encounters using EPIC EMR system
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Maintain valid state licensure and required board certifications
• Submit availability for scheduling three months in advance
• Ensure resume/CV includes department and specific role details
