Job Title: Lab Tech
Location: Winnebago, Nebraska
Schedule: 10:00PM – 6:30AM x 5
Term: 16-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $47 – $50/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Lab Tech for a temporary assignment in Winnebago, Nebraska. These positions are 16-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Lab Tech:
• Perform laboratory testing independently during overnight shifts (7 PM to 7:30 AM) on a 7 on/7 off schedule (Wednesday–Tuesday)
• Manage workflow while working independently overnight, including multitasking, adjusting priorities, and responding to codes and traumas
• Perform specimen acquisition, including routine phlebotomy
• Perform accessioning and ordering of tests in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and process specimens with referral to reference laboratories
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure efficient operation and accurate results
• Perform basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment as needed
• Perform analytical testing on patient specimens across all laboratory sections with skill, accuracy, and proficiency
• Maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory agency requirements
• Write and maintain laboratory policies and procedures
• Adhere to sterilization and infection control procedures due to regular exposure to infectious clinical specimens
• Follow chemical and biological hazard protocols and comply with governmental and regulatory policies and standards
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients and staff
• Work every other weekend during scheduled work weeks
• Work holidays that fall within a scheduled shift week
