Job Title: Hospitalist
Location: Ketchikan, Alaska
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $185 – $200/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Hospitalist for a temporary assignment in Ketchikan, Alaska. These positions are 26-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Hospitalist:
• Provide Hospitalist services as an MD with 0.10 FTE commitment over a 6-month assignment filling gaps in schedule
• Must be willing to work nights; variable 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
• Urgent coverage needed for night shifts (7p-7a) from 12/29/26 through 1/4/27
• Perform rounding and admissions, including ICU rounding and admissions
• Manage both med/surg and ICU patients in an inpatient setting with 25 beds
• Manage an average of 10 patients per day
• Provide care primarily for adult patients; may be consulted on pediatric patients but does not follow up on them
• Perform preferred procedures including vent management, intubation, and central line placement
• Work independently as a solo provider
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications (must be from AHA or American Red Cross)
• Utilize Epic EMR system for documentation (Epic experience preferred)
• Provide documentation of internal medicine or family medicine services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months
• Maintain a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience
• Complete 8 hours of non-billable orientation on the first day of assignment
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirement (no exemptions accepted)
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
