Job Title: SURG-TECH
Location: Havre, Montana
Schedule: 7:00AM – 3:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $33 – $35/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a SURG-TECH for a temporary assignment in Havre, Montana. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a SURG-TECH:
• Prepare the operating room with nursing staff for surgical procedures in a timely and organized manner
• Correctly practice the principles of asepsis
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all equipment in the OR and Endoscopic Lab
• Coordinate care of the patient with the RN Circulator
• Stock and replace CS items and prepare CS inventory sheets
• Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures
• Assist the physician during surgical procedures with correct instrumentation organized and available
• Follow verbal physician orders in the operating suite
• Handle surgical specimens appropriately
• Compile necessary equipment on the surgical field
• Timely document unusual occurrence reports and other departmental forms as required
• Perform CPR as needed
• Correctly and proficiently use all applicable instruments and equipment
• Clean and wrap instruments for sterilization
• Transport patients to and from the OR
• Monitor surgical equipment, maintenance, and repairs
• Complete duties as technical scrub in the OR
• Prepare room and equipment for Endoscopy procedures
• Maintain a cooperative disposition within the OR
• Provide care and ensure safety of the patient during surgical procedures under the guidance of the Registered Nurse
• Demonstrate knowledge relative to the ages of the patients served
