Job Title: SURG-TECH
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Schedule: 7:00AM – 5:00PM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $57 – $61/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a SURG-TECH for a temporary assignment in Bozeman, Montana. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a SURG-TECH:
• Function in the role of scrub person under the supervision of the surgeon and R.N. to ensure the O.R. environment is safe and equipment functions properly
• Ensure operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety
• Apply expertise in surgical technique, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate safe patient care during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
• Assure completion of case carts according to preference cards, recognizing and interpreting preference cards for the procurement of instruments and supplies
• Communicate clearly with operating room staff and sterile processing staff members to coordinate instrumentation throughout the day for scheduled and non-scheduled cases
• Review daily schedule with the charge nurse and day coordinator of sterile processing to identify possible turnover delays and scheduling issues
• Assume responsibility for the core phone and communications inherent with the position, delegating duties accordingly and coordinating breaks and lunches with appropriate individuals
• Serve as a resource for SPD and Surgical Services departments for the procurement of necessary supplies and instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled surgical procedures
• Communicate and coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment
• Maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Maintain Certified Surgical Technologist certification
