Job Title: OB Nurse
Location: Grants, New Mexico
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $72 – $77/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OB Nurse for a temporary assignment in Grants, New Mexico. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OB Nurse:
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes.
• Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care.
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
• Float to other departments as needed, with appropriate orientation and training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations and patient needs.
• Maintain current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent).
• For LDRP department: Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications.
• For LDRP department: Complete OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification within 12 months.
• For LDRP department: Demonstrate skill in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.
• For LDRP department: Apply knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.
• Adhere to the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines.
