Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a permanent assignment in Sitka, Alaska.

Responsibilities for a PT:

• Provide general physical therapy evaluations and treatments to a wide range of ages with widely varying diagnoses and issues
• Perform assessments, evaluations, identify therapy diagnoses, formulate therapy treatment plans with goals, and implement physical therapy treatments
• Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care based on assessment of patient response to optimize outcomes
• Review clinical records and case histories; attend care conferences, regular meetings/rounds, and maintain contact with referring providers and other healthcare professionals
• Collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate medical equipment is arranged and care plans are established prior to discharge
• Document patient encounter findings and treatments including diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses according to established policies
• Provide services in a timely manner and according to regulatory requirements
• Work with inpatient and outpatient populations in various settings as assigned
• Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns
• Facilitate a healthcare partnership between providers, patients, and their families
• Develop, implement, and conduct patient education and therapy programs based on patient and/or family needs
• Provide patients and families with clear and concise home exercise programs to achieve the fullest rehabilitative potential
• Advise patients and family members in methods that facilitate self-care and independence
• Assist senior staff in administrative matters, clinic operations, and specialty/research areas as appropriate
• Utilize hospital computer systems to obtain patient information and remain current on directives
• Participate in the timely and efficient flow of information via email and other digital platforms
• Provide summaries of results, statistics, and metrics as required by management
• Assist in the acquisition and fit of durable medical equipment/devices based on patient needs
• Maintain supply stocks and clinical equipment at acceptable levels
• Remain current in specific billing procedures and mechanisms including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers
• Maintain cleanliness of clinical space
• Educate staff on PT-related issues and educate patients/families about functional limitations, therapeutic exercises, activities, and equipment
• Assist in committee and management duties and represent the Rehabilitation Services Department as requested
• Provide therapy consultation, presentations, and in-services to medical staff and other interdisciplinary healthcare personnel
• Adhere to the regulatory and practice standards of physical therapy as set by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Follow all confidentiality and quality assurance standards and participate in quality management functions
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Maintain valid Physical Therapist licensure
• Complete Clinical Competency requirements within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter
• Complete High Risk Competency requirements within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter
• Perform other duties as assigned
