Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Manager for a permanent assignment in Wrangell, Alaska.
Responsibilities for a Manager:
• Participate in and maintain a comprehensive risk management program in accordance with AK Statutes
• Collaborate in decision making, along with leadership, regarding patient safety and risk management
• Investigate, evaluate, and submit adverse incidents in accordance with regulatory reporting requirements
• Coordinate and facilitate the disclosure of adverse incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Analyze patient grievances received in risk management in accordance with AK Statutes
• Facilitate Patient Safety Rounds
• Provide risk management and patient safety education to entity/departments
• Participate in educational and/or developmental opportunities as appropriate
• Adhere to appropriate safety procedures and lifting techniques
• Stay abreast of industry/clinical risk trends
• Work closely and collaboratively with Medical Directors, CMO, and Corporate Counsel on quality of care and risk management issues stemming from peer review activities
• Maintain working knowledge of regulatory standards including DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF, etc.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulatory standards and monitor advancements in technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance
• Assist with accreditation and quality support including chart audits, clinical reviews, and data support
• Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization and serve as a resource, mentor, and role model for others
• Perform other duties as assigned including cross coverage of other Quality Management Team member roles
• Maintain current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license
• Obtain Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification within two (2) years
• Complete Clinical Competency Assessment within 3 months and every 3 years thereafter
• Minimum of 20% travel is required
• Comply with safe work rules and report all accidents, injuries, defective equipment, and unsafe conditions immediately
• Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
