Job Title: OB Nurse
Location: Machias, Maine
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $65 – $70/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OB Nurse for a temporary assignment in Machias, Maine. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OB Nurse:
• Independently provides holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the OB unit
• Demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, and teaching skills with a commitment to improving the quality of patient care
• Independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills
• Performs the functions of a RN in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse
• Adheres to all Standards of Nursing Practice
• Implements and evaluates age-appropriate care for all patients in the department, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op gynecology patients
• Manages supplies and equipment within the unit
• Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of the unit and other hospital departments
• Adheres to hospital policies regarding confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and ADA
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
• Requires a minimum of one year of acute care experience as an RN
• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Successfully completes general nursing and unit orientation
• Demonstrates effective communication skills, both written and oral
• Maintains computer skills proficiency
• Maintains current BLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate (NRP)
• Maintains current STABLE certification
• Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate
