Job Title: MED-SURG/TELE
Location: Clarkston, Washington
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $63 – $68/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG/TELE for a temporary assignment in Clarkston, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG/TELE:
• Must be experienced in all MedSurg/PCU areas and willing to flex into other departments as needed
• Active WA state license required
• Must be available and willing to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal RTO dates
• Identifies patient and significant others’ needs for patient education and provides education utilizing appropriate modalities
• Identifies and provides for patient safety through preventative measures (e.g., side rails, restraints, safe use of equipment)
• Follows restraint policy correctly, evaluates, and documents appropriately
• Demonstrates knowledge of safe operation of all equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Aware of troubleshooting techniques and follows procedures for repair of essential equipment; able to access equipment manuals as needed
• Implements infection control and isolation procedures using proper procedures and documentation
• Utilizes standard precautions at all times
• Maintains complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shift
• Documents charges accurately
• Ensures accuracy and completes physician orders in a timely manner
• Completes 24-hour check of orders when within duties of assigned shift
• Gives change-of-shift report to oncoming employees in a complete and accurate manner
• Communicates with other departments completely and accurately
• Reports critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy
• Maintains and restocks emergency carts, room supplies, and general supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned
