Job Title: L&D
Location: Carlton, Colorado
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $77 – $83/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a L&D for a temporary assignment in Carlton, Colorado. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a L&D:
• Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to newborns, assuring all aspects of maternal childcare
• Perform assessments and monitor the progress of labor
• Prepare for C-sections and inductions
• Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care
• Provide patient education to mothers and families
• Prepare the delivery room and provide emotional support to patients
• Coordinate patient transfers as needed
• Administer IV medications in accordance with established protocols
• Adhere to principles of infection control and sterile technique
• Perform proper documentation of nursing care
• Apply knowledge and proficiency in obstetric equipment and procedures
• Maintain current CPR certification
• Obtain Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment
• Maintain current RN licensure in Colorado
• Work full-time 36 hours per week on night shifts (7:00p to 7:00a), with potential shift and area rotation based on staffing and census needs
• Participate in on-call requirements as needed
