Job Title: Oncologist
Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Schedule: 10:00PM – 6:30AM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $416 – $448/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncologist for a temporary assignment in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Oncologist:

• Provide outpatient clinic care Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, seeing an average of 15 patients per day
• Conduct appointments following structured time slots: 20 minutes for pre-treatment and established follow-up visits, 40 minutes for new hematology consults and hospital follow-ups, and 60 minutes for new oncology consults
• Manage an average of 2 new patients per day alongside treatment and follow-up patients
• Support inpatient and emergency department consultation and patient care guidance related to hematology/oncology before and/or after clinic hours
• Respond to secure chats from hospital staff during clinic hours as needed
• Cover inpatient consults at both hospital locations as part of the call schedule
• Participate in a call rotation of approximately 1 week per month, covering both inpatient and phone call types, with an expected frequency of 0–2 calls per day
• Provide weekend and night call coverage as part of the rotation
• Serve as supervising provider for a morning and afternoon session each week to cover urgent patient needs for providers not in the office
• Manage a patient population consisting of approximately two-thirds oncology and one-third hematology cases, including lung, breast, prostate, colorectal, and select blood cancers
• Administer and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IVIG, IV iron, and non-chemotherapy injections within the clinic infusion setting
• Coordinate radiation oncology care in collaboration with the oncology navigator
• Participate in tumor board meetings
• Utilize Nuance dictation system for clinical documentation
• Maintain board certification; double board certification preferred
• Hold or obtain an active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC/LOQ
• Have completed a fellowship in the applicable specialty
• Comply with all credentialing and privileging requirements, with full compliance due two weeks prior to start date
