Location: Bethel, Alaska
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $62 – $67/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a OT for a temporary assignment in Bethel, Alaska. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a OT:
• Provide full-time, quality outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care, including some work at a local Long Term Care facility
• Treat all patient age ranges and diagnoses within the State of Alaska’s occupational therapy scope of practice
• Conduct home visits and village travel as part of patient care delivery
• Collaborate frequently with medical providers and utilize strong didactic skills in accordance with Alaska’s Direct Access privilege for occupational therapy
• Incorporate evidence-based medicine into patient plans of care
• Exemplify professional conduct, patient care ethics, and respect for cultural diversity when rendering patient care
• Modify patient care plans appropriately using age-specific and patient-specific considerations
• Utilize office equipment including computers, telephones, fax machines, and copy machines
• Operate standard Occupational Therapy Department equipment including hi-lo tables, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound and electric stimulation modalities, and ADL training room equipment
• Transport and utilize necessary treatment tools and equipment (e.g., theraband, exercise programs) for village-based patient care
• Read, analyze, and interpret occupational therapy periodicals and medical literature
• Compose patient care documentation and medical correspondence
• Communicate effectively with medical staff, peers, and administrative personnel
• Communicate effectively with members of different cultures who may or may not speak English
• Conduct periodic self-assessments as part of supervisory responsibilities
• Maintain current licensure in good standing as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Alaska
• Maintain current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Maintain current BLS certification
