Job Title: Hospitalist
Location: New Ulm, Minnesota
Schedule: 7:00AM – 5:30PM x 2
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $164 – $176/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Hospitalist for a temporary assignment in New Ulm, Minnesota. These positions are 26-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Hospitalist:
• Provide hospitalist services in a hospital setting with a daily census ranging from approximately 15–25 patients
• Responsible for admissions and rounding in the Critical Care Unit (CCU)
• Manage ventilator patients in the CCU until transfer to a higher-level care facility can be arranged
• Manage codes as needed, with support available from the 24/7 on-site emergency department physician
• Coordinate timely transfer of higher-acuity patients to appropriate facilities via ground EMS or helicopter
• Monitor and manage patients awaiting system bed placement who may remain at the facility for several hours to up to one day
• Perform bread and butter hospitalist cases; no strict procedural requirements
• Utilize Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation
• Work collaboratively with RN and RN Manager support, as well as telehealth support
• Maintain Board Certification and active MN license
• Meet minimum of 1 year of experience requirement in a comparable hospitalist setting
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and compliance documentation requirements
