Job Title: RRT
Location: Sitka, Alaska
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $72 – $77/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RRT for a temporary assignment in Sitka, Alaska. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a RRT:
• Participate in the assessment, administration, and evaluation of respiratory therapy treatments, pulmonary function testing, extubations, airway management, and ventilatory life support for critical adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in obtaining, interpreting, and evaluating pulmonary function tests, arterial blood gases, airway management, and respiratory treatments
• Provide instruction to patients in the use of respiratory therapy equipment, inhalation gases, and other therapies related to the treatment of respiratory diseases and/or the promotion of respiratory wellness
• Responsible for the cleaning, care, and maintenance of all equipment used in the delivery of respiratory treatments and pulmonary function testing
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Maintain credentialing by the NBRC as a Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Accurately interpret arterial blood gases and skillfully operate mechanical ventilators, offering alternative solutions as needed
• Work under adverse conditions such as exposure to communicable and infectious diseases
• Maintain flu vaccine compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned
