Job Title: SURG-TECH
Location: Fairfield, Iowa
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $52 – $56/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a SURG-TECH for a temporary assignment in Fairfield, Iowa. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a SURG-TECH:
• Perform surgical technician functions in the surgical area
• Provide care for patients in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Successfully complete a program meeting the minimum requirements defined in the core curriculum for Surgical Technology (CAAHEP accredited)
• Work full-time nights, Monday through Friday (6:30am – 3pm) with occasional call until 7pm
• Maintain up-to-date immunizations including MMR, Varicella, Polio, Hepatitis B, TDaP, and flu vaccination during flu season
• Provide two recent employment references
• Maintain valid licensure or certification with no disciplinary actions
• Complete a negative 2-step Mantoux or QuantiFERON Gold tuberculosis test within required timeframe
• Complete a 10-panel drug screen within required timeframe
• Complete respiratory fit testing within required timeframe
• Complete Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates for Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse
• Complete required CareLearning education modules prior to start date
• Maintain a clear criminal background check covering all states where licensure is held and where lived/worked in the past 7 years
