Job Title: RCP
Location: Robinson, Illinois
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $54 – $58/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RCP for a temporary assignment in Robinson, Illinois. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a RCP:
• Perform accurate and complete respiratory assessments of patients, including initial screenings and age, culture, and psycho-social appropriate pain assessments and reassessments
• Determine requirements for treatment, including type, method, and duration of therapy, precautions, and medication and dosages compatible with physicians’ orders
• Formulate teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluate the effectiveness of learning, including patient/family education on pain management, discharge planning, and follow-up instructions
• Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes, and consult with physicians if adverse reactions occur
• Prepare and administer medications based on age and clinical condition of the patient, demonstrating knowledge of respiratory medications, outcomes, and side effects
• Conduct tests such as holter monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and lung capacity tests to evaluate patients’ cardiopulmonary functions and adjust equipment to obtain optimum results
• Complete routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning; maintain department equipment and assist with calibration; ensure proper documentation is completed
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely; prepare patient records in both electronic and chart form
• Perform all aspects of the position in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors, utilizing established hand-off communication protocols
• Comply with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff
• Participate in performance improvement activities
• Maintain current IL Respiratory Therapist License, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Utilize strong computer skills to navigate EMR programs
• Perform other duties as assigned
