Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: San Francisco, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 5:00PM x 4
Term: 23-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $146 – $158/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary assignment in San Francisco, California. These positions are 23-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Work full time schedule, either 5×8 or 4×10 days with weekends required
• Be available for on-call coverage 1 Saturday per month; if not called in within 2 hours, provider will be released from call for the day
• Provide autonomous APP work through a consultative care model, managing independent patient visits
• Work through referrals from oncology counterparts and collaborate with APPs, RNs, and MAs in the infusion center
• Manage adverse reactions, patient transfers, and direct admissions in coordination with the ED
• Manage patient care for specific oncology disease groups from diagnosis through treatment
• See approximately 10-12 patients per day in an outpatient infusion center setting
• Collaborate directly with inpatient services as needed
• Utilize Epic EMR for clinical documentation
• Maintain required board certification (NPs: A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, or ACNPC; PAs must be certified)
• Maintain BLS certification (AHA-issued) for the duration of assignment
• Hold a valid CA DEA license with Schedule 2/2n authority
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in specific oncology areas, with infusion experience preferred
• Demonstrate inpatient or high-acuity experience; BMT and hematology experience will be considered
• Preferred certifications include OCN or AOCNP
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements, including booster (medical/religious exemptions only)
