Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $85 – $91/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a temporary assignment in Craig, Alaska. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a PT:
• Provide general Physical Therapy (PT) evaluations and treatments which impact patient’s functional abilities
• Oversee and direct the work of Physical Therapist Assistants and/or other designated staff members
• Provide assessment, perform evaluation, identify therapy diagnosis, formulate therapy treatment plans with goals, and implement physical therapy treatment to patients across a wide range of ages with varying diagnoses
• Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care based on assessment of patient response to optimize outcomes
• Review clinical records and case histories
• Attend care conferences, regular meetings/rounds, and maintain contact with referring providers and other healthcare professionals to review patient status and individual needs
• Collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate medical equipment is arranged and care plans are established prior to discharge
• Document patient encounter findings and treatments including diagnoses, treatment plans, recommendations, and prognoses in appropriate format
• Provide services in a timely manner and according to regulatory requirements
• Work with in-patient and out-patient populations in various settings as assigned
• Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns
• Facilitate a healthcare partnership between providers, patients, and their families
• Develop, implement, and conduct patient education and therapy programs based on patient and/or family needs
• Provide patients and families with clear and concise home exercise programs to achieve fullest rehabilitative potential
• Advise patients and family members in methods that facilitate self-care and independence
• Assist senior staff in administrative matters, clinic operations, and specialty/research areas as appropriate
• Utilize hospital computer systems to obtain patient information and stay current on hospital directives
• Participate in the timely and efficient flow of information via email and other digital platforms
• Provide summaries of results, statistics, and metrics as required by management
• Assist in acquisition and fitting of durable medical equipment/devices based on patient needs
• Communicate with supervisor and/or DME provider to measure, fit, and deliver equipment and maintain appropriate stock levels
• Maintain supply stocks and clinical equipment at acceptable levels
• Remain current in specific billing procedures/mechanisms including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers
• Maintain cleanliness of clinical space
• Educate staff on PT-related issues and educate patients/families about functional limitations and therapeutic exercises, activities, and equipment
• Assist in committee and management duties and represent the Rehabilitation Services Department as requested
• Provide therapy consultation, presentations, and in-services to medical staff and other interdisciplinary healthcare personnel
• Adhere to regulatory and practice standards of PT set by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Maintain valid state Physical Therapy license
• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Perform other duties as assigned
