Job Title: RRT
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $52 – $56/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RRT for a temporary assignment in Janesville, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a RRT:
• Work 36 hours per week in 3×12 hour shifts with shift start time of 1800 to 0630
• Work every other weekend and rotating holiday schedule
• Perform routine therapies that aid in the treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status
• Perform and document emergency rounds, oxygen saturation checks, and titrate oxygen per protocol during oxygen and aerosol rounds
• Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation
• Make parameter recommendations based on clinical assessment, technical assessment, patient compliance, patient response, laboratory values, and patient status
• Perform therapies in strict compliance with universal precautions and proper body mechanics
• Initiate and provide ongoing evaluation of treatment regimes including medication delivery and oxygen administration through therapist driven protocols
• Perform patient assessments to determine needs related to treatment therapies, frequencies, and duration of treatment regimes ordered by physician
• Assess patients clinically before and after the administration or application of any medication, procedure, or device
• Recommend appropriate therapy including initial therapy, changes in therapy, and discontinuation
• Monitor, assess, educate, and document patient and/or family on therapies, medications, goals of therapies, and equipment during treatment
• Demonstrate competence in the set-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators, noninvasive ventilation devices, therapeutic bronchoscopies, and pulmonary function screens
• Clean using high level disinfection, assemble, and maintain equipment and stock departmental supplies
• Respond to emergent care situations and assist with resuscitation by providing chest compressions, airway management, airway stabilization, and ventilator support
• Transport adult patients on mechanical ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and critically ill patients to intrahospital procedures and testing
• Provide developmentally appropriate care to support various patient populations including pediatric and adult patients
• Participate in community education events relating to procedures performed, disease processes, medications, and treatments relating to respiratory care
• Participate in self-development activities, in-services, and continuing education appropriate for respiratory care services
• Maintain Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license
• Maintain RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification with The National Board for Respiratory Care
• Maintain AHA Provider Level BLS certification
• Maintain NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
