Job Title: L&D
Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Schedule: 4:00PM – 4:00AM x 3
Term: 16-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $78 – $84/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a L&D for a temporary assignment in Fort Defiance, Arizona. These positions are 16-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a L&D:
• Provide registered nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum rooms, and Newborn/Babies room
• Support Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) standards and practices
• Manage an average of 40 deliveries per month and approximately 6 C-sections per month
• Serve as charge nurse on occasion following completion of charge nurse training
• Maintain a minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care
• Work 12-hour day shifts with flexibility to cover other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Maintain current American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO certification
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Maintain current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Maintain current AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification or RNC-EFM as a substitute
• Float to other departments as needed, including taking patient loads if experienced and competent, or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones
