Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $65 – $70/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a temporary assignment in Waltham, Massachusetts. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a PT:
• Partner with residents and other care providers to provide physical therapy services to maximize residents’ functional abilities and independence in their activities of daily living
• Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures under the order of a physician or other accepted healthcare provider while observing precautions, indications, and contraindications
• Evaluate residents per department protocols and establish a therapeutic plan of care including functional long- and short-term goals, frequency and duration of services, and therapeutic modalities to be used
• Seek input from the resident and primary caregivers regarding the therapeutic plan of care and incorporate this information into therapy goals
• Provide consultation to the referring physician and other members of the healthcare team regarding the plan of care and discharge needs of the resident
• Attend all pertinent team meetings
• Monitor and evaluate treatment effects and progress the treatment program toward functional goals established in the treatment plan of care
• Modify the treatment plan of care as necessary
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record all evaluative and therapeutic interactions with the resident per department procedures
• Recommend and obtain appropriate assistive devices for residents and ensure instruction has been given in their use
• Provide appropriate education to the resident and/or caregiver and document the results of teaching
• Refer residents appropriately to Physical Therapist Assistants and work collaboratively to ensure good resident care with other therapy professionals
• Understand and comply with Medicare and other reimbursement regulations
• Document resident care appropriately with attention to Medicare, Medicaid, Private Pay, and other reimbursement requirements
• Provide in-service education regarding clinical knowledge and skills to nursing and other departments
• Maintain current clinical skills and knowledge through learning activities
• Actively assist with the development of new programs and services offered from Rehabilitation
• Maintain awareness of professional issues through membership in professional organizations and reading professional publications
• Supervise the activities of assistant-level staff when appropriate, considering their level of education and training
• Ensure adherence to all state mandates and professional organizations’ standards for using assistant-level staff
• Provide mentorship to new staff during orientation, ensuring that department orientation checklists and basic competencies are completed per departmental procedure
• Ensure department cleanliness and maintenance by routinely keeping office and clinical areas clean and neat
• Follow all system and department infection control procedures
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and competencies and complete annual compliance courses on time
• Must have Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience
