Job Title: L&D
Location: Pella, Iowa
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $65 – $70/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a L&D for a temporary assignment in Pella, Iowa. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a L&D:
• Collaborate with the health care team using evidence-based practice, demonstrating accountability and respect for patients, families, and coworkers
• Provide safe and optimal patient outcomes through sound nursing judgment and critical thinking skills
• Promote continuity of care by communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team and family as appropriate
• Direct the work of support staff in the provision of care
• Perform general nursing duties with minimal supervision
• Work with age-specific populations including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups
• Maintain current Registration and Licensure as an RN in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• Maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification
• Maintain current ACLS certification per education course requirement guidelines
• Apply technical and critical thinking skills in relation to sound nursing judgment
• Demonstrate high degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward others
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
• Work effectively as a member of a team
• Utilize basic computer knowledge in daily nursing duties
• Apply knowledge of nursing practices as they relate to acute care
