Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a permanent assignment in Republic, Washington.
Responsibilities for a PT:
• Administer physical therapy programs including training and supervising hourly and contract staff
• Develop therapy programs in accordance with physician instructions utilizing heat, cold, manual therapy, hydrotherapy, exercise, rest, and electricity
• Administer treatments including TENS, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, ultrasound, phonophoresis, intermittent pneumatic compression, taping, and traction
• Provide patient education and guidance on therapeutic exercises including active, passive assistive, resistive, range of motion, breathing, postural re-education, and gait training
• Assess and educate patients on wheelchair and assistive device use, balance re-education, and training
• Supervise and administer treatment to convalescing patients including muscle testing, grading strength and weakness, massage, and muscle reeducation
• Observe patient condition during treatment and modify prescribed treatment if deemed potentially injurious to patient health
• Consult with physicians to outline long-range programs for patients and report progress or results
• Supervise clinical practice of physical therapy students; demonstrate proper positioning methods and techniques
• Teach exercises to patients and their families for home treatment
• Schedule patients for treatment with assistance of front office coordinator and rehab aide staff
• Prepare periodic patient progress reports and detailed monthly reports
• Manage the department’s yearly budget
• Order supplies and equipment from appropriate vendors
• Actively check and respond to emails throughout the day
• Complete all mandatory education within given timeframes
• Maintain regulatory requirements and current Washington State licensure
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community
• Attend annual reviews, department in-services, and at least 75% of staff meetings
• Actively participate in the department’s quality improvement (QI) activities
• Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policy, state and federal regulations, including HIPAA
• Meet dress code standards; maintain a neat and clean appearance
• Perform related duties as assigned by management
