Job Title: PTA
Location: Petaluma, California
Schedule: 8:00AM – 4:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PTA for a temporary assignment in Petaluma, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a PTA:
• Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board requirements
• Assist in maintaining the department
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area
• Treat patients per the physician treatment plan
• Assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides
• Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans
• Participate in in-service training programs for other staff
• Record treatment changes per policy and procedures
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services
• Report any problems with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order
• Demonstrate the ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues
• Maintain proficiency in computer skills, including inputting data into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care
• Maintain a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing with the state board
• Meet continuing education requirements per state practices
