Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG for a permanent assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG:
• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer’s health and/or situation
• Analyze assessment data to determine diagnosis or issues
• Identify expected outcomes for individualized patient care plans
• Develop plans that prescribe strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes
• Implement identified care plans and ensure patient progression
• Coordinate care delivery across interdisciplinary teams
• Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment through health teaching and health promotion
• Provide consultation to influence care plans, enhance abilities of others, and effect change
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient outcomes
• Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice
• Attain knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practice
• Evaluate own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations
• Interact with and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues
• Collaborate with patients, families, and others in the conduct of nursing practice
• Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of practice
• Integrate research findings into practice
• Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in planning and delivery of nursing services
• Provide leadership in the professional practice setting
• Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner
• Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined by the state of employment
• Deliver competent care consistent with standards, policies, laws, and accreditation/certifying organizations
• Abide by the Provisions of the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010)
• Proficiently use applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care
• Access work-related applications necessary to remain an engaged and active associate of the organization
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve quality of patient care delivery through innovative and creative problem solving
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 60 days of hire or transfer
• Maintain valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with the South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities
