Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech
Location: Decorah, Iowa
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $38 – $41/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Sterile Processing Tech for a temporary assignment in Decorah, Iowa. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Sterile Processing Tech:
• Ensure all surgical instruments, trays, and equipment are cleaned, decontaminated, sterilized, and prepared according to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards
• Support the surgical team by providing timely and accurate instrumentation
• Maintain infection prevention practices in all processing activities
• Perform decontamination of medical supplies and instrumentation
• Assemble and prepare instrument trays and surgical sets
• Perform terminal sterilization of equipment and supplies following manufacturers’ recommendations
• Manage sterile storage and delivery of sterilized items to end users
• Distribute equipment and supplies for in-hospital use
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Maintain current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification
• Work a rotating schedule with varying shift times as assigned
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for processing and patient care delivery
