Job Title: Physician Assistant (PA)
Location: Burlingame, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $141 – $151/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary assignment in Burlingame, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Physician Assistant (PA):
• Provide inpatient consulting services with a primary focus on Stroke Neurology, supporting patients throughout the hospital including the ICU
• Support Neurointerventional and Neurosurgery services as needed, based on patient volume
• Manage a variable daily patient census, typically no more than 10 patients per day based on consult volume and service needs
• Work 3×12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), approximately 13 shifts per month, including weekend rotation
• Complete proctoring for 6 patient encounters to satisfy credentialing requirements
• Utilize Epic EMR system for clinical documentation and charting
• Collaborate with stroke managers, neurologists, and current APCs on the team
• Apply experience with inpatient stroke neurology, neuro IR, neurosurgery, and EVDs
• Maintain board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• Maintain active California state licensure and DEA registration, including controlled substance prescriptive authority
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in Stroke Neurology, Neurointerventional, and Neurosurgery services
• ENLS certification preferred
