Job Title: Scrub-Tech
Location: Carlton, Colorado
Schedule: 7:00AM – 3:00PM x 5
Term: 9-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $52 – $56/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Scrub-Tech for a temporary assignment in Carlton, Colorado. These positions are 9-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Scrub-Tech:
• Function as part of the surgical healthcare team, providing technical support to surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia providers in the operating room setting
• Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse during surgical procedures
• Arrange supplies and instruments and maintain accurate counts at all times during operations
• Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgeon during procedures
• Assist with applying dressings and help prepare and preserve specimens taken for testing
• Operate sterilizers and run various tests to validate and verify sterilization of surgical instruments in the Sterile Processing area
• Validate sterility of packaged supplies
• Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments following their use in surgery after regular hours
• Check instruments before cases for proper sterility and ensure instruments are in proper working condition before and after cases
• Apply principles of aseptic practice in varying situations
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening
• Maintain sterility while opening sterile items for procedures
• Anticipate the need for supplies and equipment
• Check supplies for outdates, restock the operating room, and order supplies to maintain adequate on-hand inventory
• Maintain current CST certification and valid State of Colorado registration as a Surgical Technician
• Demonstrate ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations and adapt to a wide variety of job situations involving different people and projects
