Job Title: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $114 – $123/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a locum tenens assignment in Grand Forks, North Dakota. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):
• Provide patients and their families with appropriate education based on the patient’s condition and identify needs to optimize understanding
• Provide health maintenance and disease management counseling to patients
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations and assessments, and initiate admission orders as appropriate
• Provide medical management and/or other interventions for acute and chronic health problems
• Implement a plan of care and perform procedures according to education, training, experience, and competencies
• Refer patients to specialists and/or therapists when appropriate and in a timely manner, ensuring continuity of care
• Order and interpret lab studies and diagnostic tests to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment as appropriate
• Notify patients promptly of test results
• Collaborate with physicians as necessary to verify diagnosis, identify high-risk situations, or respond to changes in patient status
• Write orders for prescription medication under established protocol
• Serve as a liaison and resource for physicians, health care team members, patients, and families
• Participate in plans for health promotion, prevention, and maintenance for the community and region
• Maintain current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Maintain current Nurse Practitioner licensure through the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement
• Maintain current Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Achieve annual Patient Engagement and Quality and Safety goals
• Support department objectives and maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure quality patient care
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department
