Job Title: ICU/CCU
Location: Aberdeen, Washington
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $62 – $67/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a ICU/CCU for a temporary assignment in Aberdeen, Washington. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a ICU/CCU:
• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles
• Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare and administer (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and record prescribed medications
• Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse
• Provide basic, bedside care
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician, teaching patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, including post-treatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self-administration of medication and rehabilitation
• Record patients’ medical information and vital signs
• Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s condition
• Take samples for lab work, order prescribed lab work and evaluate/interpret lab reports
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
• Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol
• Record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
• Apply Hemodynamic, Phlebotomy and IV protocols
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients and interpret and record electronic displays such as central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc.
• Monitor catheters, leads and tubing for proper placement and functioning
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring/life support equipment shows adverse symptomatology
• Maintain valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Maintain a valid professional license within the state of practice/nurse licensure compact
