Job Title: Lab Tech
Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $39 – $42/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Lab Tech for a temporary assignment in Coos Bay, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Lab Tech:
• Work as a Histology Technician with less than 1 year of experience considered
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Maintain Registry as Histology Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent
• Utilize Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS) computer systems
• Operate and maintain histology equipment including tissue processor, embedding center, automatic stainer, automated coverslipper, analytic balance, automated microtome, microwave, microscope, tissue floatation bath, volumetric glassware, cryostat, and recycler
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
