Job Title: Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Location: La Jolla, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $126 – $136/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a temporary assignment in La Jolla, California. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Oncology Nurse Practitioner:
• Round on patients alongside 4 other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) per day on an Inpatient Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant unit
• Manage an average patient census of 10-12 patients per day
• Perform care coordination for transplant patients including admissions and discharges
• Provide care for patients experiencing relapse after transplant
• Manage malignant hematology cases and patients with common co-morbidities
• Work 12-hour day shifts (0700-1930) on a unit that operates 7 days per week, Monday through Sunday
• Maintain active California (CA) state licensure
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications
• Demonstrate highly qualified knowledge and thorough understanding of hematological blood cancers and cellular transplant
• Apply BMT experience or extensive inpatient Hematology/Oncology experience in daily patient care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including Hospitalist team who covers night calls
• Complete credentialing process within the required 45-60 day timeframe
• Submit full work history, education including residency/fellowship, active licensure, certifications, and board certification as required
• Provide references, documentation of notable achievements, research, publications, and professional society memberships as preferred submission requirements
