Job Title: ER MED-SURG
Location: Craig, Colorado
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 – $63/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a ER MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Craig, Colorado. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a ER MED-SURG:
• Coordinate and implement an individualized plan of care for each patient using the nursing process
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources
• Apply prioritization and critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Comply with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines
• Use evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality outcomes and coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Identify barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations
• Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance
• Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel
• May precept student nurses and new hires
• Practice according to professional and ethical standards as noted in the ANA Code of Ethics and Colorado State Nurse Practice Act
• Demonstrate caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships and engage in patient and family teaching as appropriate
• Establish and maintain effective verbal and written communication, fostering positive working relationships with patients, staff, and vendors
• Exhibit initiative and self-motivation; maintain a consistent level of productivity and manage time and responsibilities effectively
• Complete all required annual education, training, in-services, and licensure/certification updates; actively participate in departmental and organizational meetings or reviews meeting minutes as required
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times
• Report to work punctually and complete assigned duties within established timeframes
• Actively contribute to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies
• Follow all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff
• Maintain current and active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Obtain and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six (6) months of hire
• Obtain and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within one (1) year of hire
• Obtain and maintain current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within one (1) year of hire
• Obtain and maintain current STABLE certification within one (1) year of hire
• Obtain and maintain current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within one (1) year of hire
