Job Title: Dialysis Tech
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $29 – $32/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Dialysis Tech for a temporary assignment in Janesville, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Dialysis Tech:
• Provide specialized direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Maintain current dialysis certification as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (NNCC or BONET)
• Maintain current AHA Provider Level BLS/CPR certification
• Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments and monitor patients throughout treatments
• Maintain technical knowledge and ability to maintain dialysis equipment in conjunction with the Biomedical Team
• Understand and apply infection prevention protocols for dialysis biomedical equipment
• Perform daily and intermittent water room checks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Perform monthly water room disinfection or as required based on testing results and parameters
• Record equipment status, repair, and other regulatory points of documentation
• Interview patients and collect patient assessment data
• Measure and record vital signs including manual blood pressures, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, and weight on patients’ treatment records
• Set up patient station including chair, supplies, and machine pre-treatment, and enter data into machine
• Take down and clean machines post-treatment
• Cannulate patient access and remove needles when treatment is complete
• Initiate and perform treatments and collect lab specimens
• Prepare heparin for catheter flush
• Perform dialysis catheter care, access catheter, flush, and heparinize catheter
• Perform water, dialysate, and machine safety checks
• Perform LAL, water, and dialysate collection for testing
• Inventory and order medical supplies
• Perform vascular access monitoring and data collection
• Participate in department performance improvement, education and training, and collection of lab specimens
• Maintain a professional manner, appearance, and behavior
