Job Title: Ambulatory Care
Location: Glenwood Springs, Colorado
Schedule: 7:00AM – 5:00PM x 4
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $73 – $78/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Ambulatory Care for a temporary assignment in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Ambulatory Care:
• Function in a collaborative role with the Radiation Oncology Team to provide continuity and quality patient care
• Assess and provide appropriate nursing interventions for actual or potential problems related to disease process, treatment course, and follow-up period
• Emphasize teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to assist patients and/or families in coping with and adjusting to cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Assist in the evaluation and examination of patients with the Radiation Oncologist
• Serve as liaison between Radiation Oncology and other hospitals, departments, physician groups/offices, and counseling/support groups
• Assess and provide appropriate referrals for alternative resources including recovery, rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services
• Coordinate oncology patient care with other interdisciplinary staff
• Communicate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team through written and verbal proficiency
• Apply knowledge and skills to provide care to patients of varying age groups, human development stages, and cultural groups
• Manage chronic illness and comorbidity in the oncology patient population
• Maintain current knowledge of latest trends, skills, procedures, and protocols in hematology/oncology and internal medicine practice
• Apply evidence-based knowledge in oncology, immunology, pharmacology, community health, and cultural sensitivity
• Maintain current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Work 4-10 hour shifts on weekdays in a fast-paced clinic environment
