Job Title: Mammo Tech
Location: Warwick, Rhode Island
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $78 – $84/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Mammo Tech for a temporary assignment in Warwick, Rhode Island. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Mammo Tech:
• Independently perform all imaging exams without supervision, including X-Ray, Mammography, and Bone Density procedures, in a safe and efficient manner
• Competently operate all imaging equipment within the section while maintaining high-quality procedural standards
• Review requisitions to determine proper room setup and appropriate amounts of radiation exposure
• Study required views for each examination relative to patient anatomy and perform examinations accordingly
• Evaluate diagnostic films to ensure quality studies and repeat unsuitable films as necessary
• Independently perform quality control procedures at designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care
• Train employees and students in day-to-day imaging procedures
• Collaborate, communicate, and problem solve regularly with other divisions of the department
• Establish and maintain ongoing lines of communication with other departments through meetings and discussions
• Work proactively with other departments to facilitate patient access and scheduling of exams
• Demonstrate competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the Radiology Information System (RIS), Clinical Information System (CIS), Picture Archiving System (PACS), and other computer systems unique to each imaging section
• Participate in continuing education activities as required by the section
• Serve as a positive role model while working in collaboration with all levels of departmental personnel
• Perform all other related duties as assigned
