Job Title: Gastroenterologist
Location: Springfield, Oregon
Schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM x 5
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension.
Pay Rate: $398 – $429/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Gastroenterologist for a temporary assignment in Springfield, Oregon. These positions are 13-week locum tenens contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Gastroenterologist:
• Provide gastroenterology services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, averaging 15 patients per day
• Work 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, with a typical schedule of 7:30am–4:00pm
• Perform general procedures including Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Capsule Endoscopy (ordering and reading/interpreting results), and Esophageal Manometry (ordering and reading/interpreting results)
• Perform therapeutic procedures including Polypectomy, Biopsy, Endoscopic Hemostasis, Stricture Dilation, Foreign Body Removal, and Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC)
• Perform hospital/advanced procedures including Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) placement and replacement (outpatient), Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) including sampling, stent placement, stone extraction, dilation, and Cholangioscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) with interventions, and Bravo pH
• Conduct both rounding and admissions for adult patient populations
• Maintain clinical privileges for both clinic and hospital settings
• Provide documentation of gastroenterology services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months
• Provide training logs if training was completed within the previous year
• Provide documentation of supervised training on human subjects and a letter from a supervising physician attesting to clinical competence as an independent operator if training for double balloon enteroscopy or capsule endoscopy occurred within the previous 2 years
• Collaborate within a department of 3 physicians; will not work solo
• Utilize Epic EMR system for clinical documentation
• Maintain current BLS certification and advanced GI training certification
• Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements
