Job Title: MED-SURG
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $59 – $63/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a MED-SURG for a temporary assignment in Janesville, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a MED-SURG:
• Must have education verification, current WI License, NIHSS, and CPR/BLS certification
• Required to float to multiple in-patient units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, Ortho/Neuro, and Sub-Acute Unit
• Work every other weekend and holidays on Night Shift (6:30P-7:00A)
• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to individualized patient needs, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience, and appropriately escalate to the appropriate chain of command
