Job Title: Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Schedule: 7:00PM – 7:00AM x 3
Term: 26-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $95 – $102/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Boston, Massachusetts. These positions are 26-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner:
• Work in an ICU practice setting at a teaching hospital with an average daily census of 7 and 10 beds
• Cover 3×13-hour shifts per week, with shifts running 6a-7p or 6p-7a
• Provide primarily weekend and night shift coverage, with a preference for 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday); minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month required
• Round with the attending physician in the morning, complete tasks, and round again in the afternoon
• Function as a responding clinician only; no procedures required (no intubations, no lines, no vents, no transplants, no ECHO, no complex neuro stroke, no EVD)
• Manage bread and butter ICU and Med Surg patients, including 1 to 2 burn patients
• Care for adult patient populations
• Utilize Epic for EMR and charting
• Work under supervision of MD during day shifts and fellow/attending during night shifts, with some independence expected
• Maintain board certification in Acute Care with ICU experience
• Hold a valid Massachusetts PA license (PAs only; NPs will not be considered due to licensing timeframe)
• Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Hold a valid DEA registration
• Possess a minimum of 2+ years of critical care experience
• Complete credentialing process within the required 90-day timeframe, including applying for state licensure prior to appointment initiation
• Track and self-report the first 8 hours of orientation as non-billable
• Be available for local commute via train, subway, or personal vehicle; no travel required
