Job Title: COTA
Location: Mammoth Lakes, California
Schedule: 7:00AM – 7:00PM x 3
Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $39 – $42/hr
Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a COTA for a temporary assignment in Mammoth Lakes, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.
Responsibilities for a COTA:
• Assist the Laboratory Scientist in the operation of the Clinical Laboratory
• Perform all aspects of venipuncture including heel-stick and finger-stick procedures
• Utilize proper aseptic technique when performing patient care procedures
• Select appropriate specimen of choice through knowledge, request, or research for particular test requests
• Appropriately handle all aspects of specimen collection, labeling, and processing
• Perform specimen processing and laboratory informatics activities under the supervision of a Laboratory Scientist
• Perform correct procedures for all laboratory paperwork including patient requisitions and reference laboratory requisitions
• Document special circumstances and review billing demographics
• Complete daily check-off lists, temperature monitoring, monthly records preparation, and annual reports
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean, and orderly laboratory environment
• Maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Maintain valid CPT-1 or CPT-2 certification
• Work full-time with varied shifts
